Hi Nigel,I took this on rememberence day. with this photo you can see most of the lettering as l lifted, i keep replacing it each year . I think also when the gardeners are doing their mowing they bang the grave kerbs which disturb the lose letters. Mind considering our long it is, its just wear and time. A bit like the living of a certain age!!!!

You may be interested in the attached photograph of my father, Pte Harry Cartwright, late of the 7th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment . I understand it was taken in India circa 1921
